TaiwanIHA signs MOU with NIEM, Thailand (February 10, 2015)

Taiwan International Health Action (TaiwanIHA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Bangkok with the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM) of Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health.
The MOU was signed by NIEM Secretary-General Dr. Anuchar Sethasathien and Dr. Donald T.F. Shang, Office of International Cooperation director for the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), who also serves as Executive Director of TaiwanIHA. The MOU signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Pairoj Boonsiricamchai, NIEM Deputy Secretary-General, as well as by Section Chief Li-Ying Lai of the Office of International Cooperation and TaiwanIHA health division chief. Supported by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, this agreement deepens health cooperation between the two nations.
During the delegation’s visit to Bangkok, TaiwanIHA officials visited the Thai health ministry and international organizations including USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center. They also called on local organizations like the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and the Emergency Department of Vajira Hospital at Navamindradhiraj University. Possible health cooperation has been discussed to strengthen relationships between Thailand and Taiwan.
