1.Directions: Maximizing the use of available resources at home and abroad
- Designing a system for facilitating the recruitment of overseas medical and health aid personnel, producing a list of people who can dedicate themselves to overseas aid, and forming an international medical rescue team
- Assembling all kinds of medical equipment, medical supplies, mobile hospitals, etc., to be used for overseas humanitarian and medical aid
- Coordinating with the following to jointly offer medical care overseas: the International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF), hospitals, Protestant/Catholic/Buddhist charity groups, including the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation Taiwan, Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps, Foundation of Medical Professional Alliance in Taiwan (FMPAT), Taiwan International Medical Alliance and Taiwan Hospital Association
2. Concrete Steps: Formulating practical steps towards achieving TaiwanIHAs goals, such as:
- holding specialist seminars on public health, etc.
- training medical personnel from developing countries
- providing medical equipment, health facilities and medical supplies
- facilitating bilateral health and medical cooperation projects and entering into bilateral health and medical cooperation agreements based on each countrys medical and health development needs
- providing humanitarian relief and health and medical assistance to countries affected by natural disasters
- participating in global and regional epidemic prevention programs for malaria, HIV/AIDS, SARS, avian flu, and other new diseases in accordance with the WHOs disease reporting system
- helping developing countries with their medical and health infrastructure
- cooperating with the ICDF and other organizations to set up resident medical teams
- sending volunteer medical missions to other countries
