In 2021, Fiji continued to suspend foreign medical missions and charity clinics due to COVID-19 prevention measures. To ensure international exchanges remain uninterrupted, Cathay General Hospital donated a total of 100 boxes of epidemic prevention supplies, medical supplies and chronic disease prevention supplies based on Fiji's needs. This year, we also donated medical equipment such as laparoscopic kits, mobile surgical lights, surgical beds, and infant incubators to improve the quality of medical care in the country and to prepare for the next medical mission and surgeries. In response to the latest COVID-19 pandemic development, we have assisted in the establishment of an international telemedicine education and video medical system for the area. Through online surgical demonstration teaching, remote medical consultation and case discussions, medical staff education and exchanges are conducted to improve local medical capabilities.
In 2021, we collaborated with the Taipei Trade Office in Fiji to expand health education promotion on disease prevention and chronic disease prevention. Medical supplies for personal hygiene and protection and hygiene education materials were also provided. The project was jointly demonstrated and promoted by Yat Sen Primary School in Fiji, Health Center and partner hospital Labasa Hospital. We hope to contribute to the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and epidemic prevention in Fiji.
